Meet the Owner
I built Guardian on one idea: homeowners shouldn't have to fight their insurance company alone. After years in this industry, I'd seen too many good Buckeyes get denied or underpaid on claims they'd earned. We're here to change that — one roof, one family at a time.

Our Specialty

We handle your insurance claim so you don't have to

Most homeowners get underpaid because they don't know what their policy covers — and insurers don't volunteer it. Our team documents everything, speaks the adjuster's language, and fights supplements until the settlement covers the full scope of your damage.

$23,000avg. recovered for homeowners on approved storm claims*

Free Damage Inspection

We inspect your roof, siding, gutters, and exterior — with drone photos and a written report. If there's no claim-worthy damage, we'll tell you that too.

We File & Document

We help you open the claim, then build a documented scope of loss using the same Xactimate software your insurance company uses.

Adjuster Meeting

We meet your adjuster on the roof — on your side. Every dent, crack, and lifted shingle gets pointed out and photographed so nothing is missed.

Full-Scope Restoration

We fight supplements for anything the insurer missed, then restore your home to pre-storm condition. You pay your deductible — nothing more.*

Claim Rescue — Our Specialty Within a Specialty

Already got a lowball offer? Claim denied?

It's not over. Most denials come down to thin documentation — not the actual damage. We re-inspect with drone photography, rebuild the scope of loss in Xactimate, and file supplements or re-evaluation requests. No other contractor in the Akron–Cleveland market leads with this. Bring us your paperwork — the second look is always free.

Know Your Rights

Ohio law is on your side: the roof-matching rule

Ohio Admin. Code 3901-1-54(I)(1)(b)

When storm-damaged shingles or siding can't be matched to what's already on your home, Ohio law requires your insurer to replace enough of the roof or wall to restore a reasonably comparable appearance — not just patch a mismatched spot. Most homeowners never hear this, and insurers rarely bring it up. Guardian documents the mismatch and builds the case that gets the full scope approved.

Guardian Builders documents damage and communicates scope with your insurer as your contractor. We are not a public insurance adjuster and do not negotiate or settle claims on your behalf.

Common Questions

Insurance claims, answered

Will filing a claim raise my insurance rates?
In Ohio, insurers generally cannot surcharge you for an Act of God claim like hail or wind. Storm claims are typically rated across your whole region — meaning your rates may rise after a storm whether you file or not. Not filing just means you paid premiums for nothing.
How do I know if I have claim-worthy damage?
Hail and wind damage is often invisible from the ground — bruised shingles, cracked mats, and lifted seals cause leaks months later. That's exactly what our free inspection is for. We'll give you an honest written assessment either way.
What will this actually cost me?
On an approved claim, your only out-of-pocket cost is your policy deductible. Insurance covers the rest of the approved scope. We'll walk you through your specific policy numbers before any work begins — no surprises.
My claim was already denied or underpaid. Can you help?
Very often, yes. Denials frequently come down to thin documentation. We re-inspect, build a properly documented scope, and request re-evaluation or file supplements. The claim review is free.
How long does the whole process take?
Typical timeline: inspection within days, adjuster meeting in 1–2 weeks, approval shortly after, and installation scheduled promptly once materials arrive. Most projects finish within 4–6 weeks of first call; emergency mitigation happens within 24 hours.
My insurer will only pay for one side of my siding. Is that right?
Maybe not. Ohio's insurance regulations (Ohio Admin. Code 3901-1-54) require that when replaced materials don't reasonably match adjacent ones in quality, color, or size, the insurer must replace items in the area to achieve a reasonably uniform appearance. If your siding or shingles are discontinued and can't be matched, you may be entitled to more than a patch job. We document matching issues as part of every claim scope.
How long do I have to file a storm damage claim in Ohio?
It depends on your policy — most give you a limited window from the date of loss, often one year, and some are shorter. The clock starts on the storm date, not when you discover the leak. That's why we recommend a free inspection promptly after any major storm, even if everything looks fine from the ground.
Do you offer financing?
Yes. Flexible financing options are available for deductibles and for work that falls outside your insurance scope, with plans to fit most budgets. Ask your project manager for current terms during your free inspection.
Do I have to file an insurance claim to get an inspection?
No. The inspection is free and yours to keep, with zero obligation. If we find storm damage, we'll explain your options — whether to file a claim is always your decision.
How long does an inspection take?
About 20 minutes. We handle it from the roof and with a drone, so you don't have to climb anything — or even be outside. You'll have a written report with photos when we're done.
Will you pressure me into a new roof?
Never. We give you an honest, written assessment. If your roof is in good shape, we'll tell you so and shake your hand. No high-pressure sales, no scare tactics — just the facts and your options.
What areas do you serve?
Akron and all of Summit County, plus surrounding Northeast Ohio communities — Cuyahoga Falls, Barberton, Green, Stow, Tallmadge, Fairlawn, Norton, Wadsworth, and more.
